Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using RideAheadWeather, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service. RideAheadWeather is an experimental web application provided "as-is" without any warranties or obligations.

2. Use License

RideAheadWeather is a web application accessed through your browser. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use this web application for personal, non-commercial purposes only. All content, features, and functionality on RideAheadWeather are the exclusive property of RideAheadWeather. Under this license you may not:

  • Modify, copy, or distribute the web application or its contents
  • Use the web application for any commercial purpose or for any public display
  • Attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, or access the underlying code of RideAheadWeather
  • Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials
  • Transferring your access rights to another person

3. Disclaimer

RideAheadWeather is an experimental web application provided on an 'as is' basis. RideAheadWeather makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. RideAheadWeather accepts no obligations to maintain, update, or support this service.

4. Assumption of Risk - Outdoor Cycling Activity

Cycling outdoors carries inherent risks that exist independently of RideAheadWeather and that no forecast, route information, or app feature can eliminate - including changing or unexpected weather conditions, road surface and traffic conditions, mechanical failure, collisions, encounters with other road users, and the physical demands of the activity itself. By using this service, you acknowledge and accept that you are solely responsible for evaluating whether it is safe to ride under the actual conditions you encounter, for your own physical fitness and preparedness, and for your compliance with applicable traffic laws and safety practices (e.g. appropriate gear, lighting, and route selection). RideAheadWeather is a planning aid only and is not a substitute for your own on-the-ground judgment, real-time observation of conditions, or official safety guidance.

5. Weather Data Accuracy

Weather forecasts provided by RideAheadWeather are based on third-party data sources and are provided for informational and planning purposes only. Weather forecasts are inherently uncertain, can change rapidly, and may not reflect actual conditions at your specific location or time of travel. Do not use this service as the sole basis for deciding whether it is safe to begin or continue a ride - always use your own observation of real-time conditions and consult official weather and road-safety authorities before and during any ride, particularly in marginal or rapidly changing conditions.

6. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RideAheadWeather, its operators, and its suppliers shall not be liable for any injury, death, illness, property damage, or other loss or harm arising from or related to your use of this service or from cycling activity undertaken in connection with it, including harm resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed weather or route information. This applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and even if RideAheadWeather has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall RideAheadWeather or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including without limitation damages for loss of data or profit or due to business interruption, arising out of the use or inability to use this service. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for personal injury or certain other damages, so parts of this limitation may not apply to you; in such cases, RideAheadWeather's liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

7. Experimental Product Notice

RideAheadWeather is an experimental web application. As such, the service may be discontinued, modified, or unavailable at any time without notice. We accept no obligations to provide continuous service, bug fixes, feature updates, or technical support. Use this service at your own risk and discretion.

8. Privacy

Your use of RideAheadWeather is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes the limited, transient data we process (such as IP address usage for rate limiting and traffic measurement), the legal basis for that processing, and your rights with respect to it. RideAheadWeather does not use cookies.

9. Data Privacy

RideAheadWeather does not collect, store, or retain personal information such as your name, email address, or account credentials. Your weather forecasts and route information are processed in real-time and are not persisted to our systems. We do make limited, transient use of your IP address - for per-IP rate limiting and for a cookieless, hashed visitor and region counter used to measure aggregate traffic - as described in our Privacy Policy, including the legal basis for that processing and your right to object to it. If you have privacy concerns or other questions, please use the feedback form on our website.

10. Modifications

RideAheadWeather may revise these terms of service for its website at any time without notice. By using this website, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.

11. Contact Information

If you have any questions or concerns about these Terms & Conditions, please use the feedback form available on our website to get in touch with us.

12. About This Document

This is a generic Terms & Conditions template drafted to describe RideAheadWeather's service, risk disclosures, and liability limitations in plain language. It is provided as a starting point and is pending review by qualified legal counsel - it is not final legal copy and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal advice, particularly regarding the enforceability of the liability limitations above in your jurisdiction.
